Just to let you know, you cannot insure a MK3 Golf for 1 day. I've just tried all the main insurance companys
that do 1 day insurance & they're saying they can't insure this car. Why does life have to be so hard!
-
Ok, turns out one does & that's tempcover which is great so i'll add another rant as the above is not valid now.
Right, got a quote today from Elephant which was £700 FC, then it suddenly changed to over £800 FC. What the hell.
Thank you.
-
why just for one day?
-
Only 1 day because it's just to get the car home, & i'll get it fully insured when i get paid a few days after.
-
I would have chanced it

bad man, lol............. me 2

Send the company a "cheque" that gets lost in the good ol' Royal Mail and cancel your insurance when you have drove your car home?
Or wait till you can afford to take out insurance.
-
I used temp cover when I went to look at my golf cost around £12 for the day
-
I should not say this but find someone fully comp with any car cover and get them to drive it home, simples.
-
I'm getting a lift there so would need to drive their car back, so i'd need to be insured either way.
I'm just gonna get insured for the day i think.

Are you fully comp, if so you may be insured to drive any car, so you could drive you friends back and as long as his / her insurance is the same they could drive the Golf.
-
Nope, currently not insured on anything & when i do get insurance it'll only be TPFT.
-
Check with your insurers, me muddas insurance is tpft and she can drive whatever car with owners permission in her policy (apparently)
-
Will do, cheers.

Yeah definitely check it out, will save you some money and probably come in handy in the future too.
Not sure wether me mudda telling the truth, maybe its just an excuse to drive my golf  but i dont think she would ever drive without insurance so its probably true.
