Title: flat spots in the gear range
Post by: omex_uk on 02 August 2009, 23:34
right i have a 95 8v gti and it seems that through most gears theres a flat spot between about 3k and 3400.

some one said it may be the air mass meter, is this a likely cause?

the car doesnt stop accelerating it just slows (feels like its holding back all the torque) and then seems to get a bit better at higher revs

Hi, right on my 16v i had this prob it was the fuel relay, you maf sensor could be the prob but try the relay 1st as its the cheapest option , take your car for a  run for 10 mins, then feel the fuel relay if cold then change it it warm its ok. maf sensor are cheapest at VW they will do an exchange for about £90 hope this info helps.
