Title: Power steering pump pulley and water pump pulley now rubbing! Please help!
Post by: saxchappy on 02 August 2009, 21:07
Hello all!

I've just had my power steering pump off to clean out the adjustment mechanism etc. When I have put the pump back on, the pulley is now in contact with the water pump pulley and they, not surprisingly, rub when the engine turns. It's as if, in replacing the pump, it has shifted a few mm to the left. Can anybody explain and/or offer a solution, please?

Thanks in advance.

Kevin

Slacken off the bolts that hold the power steering assembly on to the engine - you'll find it all has quite a lot of movement in it, you may be able to back it off the other pump.
