Anyone got any recommendations for an insurance company for someone with zero no-claims (due to 8 years of company cars, not an accident) and/or limited mileage policies??
-
Some companies out there, now take into account your history as an insured company car driver. Not sure who they are, but ask a few brokers.
-
i have no ncb and brentacre come back cheapest by far. is it going to be a modded car or performance car or just a daily runner? ???
the www.confused.com site can do wonders ;)
-
I have NCB but www.elephant.co.uk were so much cheaper than everywhere else for me, my bloke and my bro, although having a woman on the policy helps lots.
-
weird that they were awful for me :(
i never get this insurance lark
-
Elephant were good for me.
2 years NCB and ?280 fully comp with a few improvements in my cover.
It was good enough for me to cancel my current cover ;D
-
damn..
i'm 28 with 3 years NCB and no endorsements (yet *touch wood*) and cheapest i could get was around 600 with privilege.. and that includes 1 bonus years no claims for going with them in first place or something..
-
I used Elelphant they were loads cheaper when we had the cupra R but when it came to changing over to a different car they want to add loads on top! So I worked out cheaper to cancel and re start the policy
-
Cos GTi cab is a second car, by cancelling my other insurance with another company they split my NCB. ?280 fully comp + protected no claims. My worst quote was ?1400. Definately worth a good search around. Good luck.
-
Its only going to be a fair weather/weekend car, but its a bit of an exotic, so is gonna be mucho dollars.
Best quote I've had so far is ?1300 from Norwich Union, that was with a ?1000 excess.
Doesn't sound too bad, til you factor in I'm days away from 29th birthday, have had my licence for over 11 years and no accidents.
-
Cant be considered a classic then.
How about limited mileage? Have ya cut it right down?
Have you tried Tesco's? Best done on-line.
-
I tried to use Tescos on-line jobbie, but as soon as I hit the 'click to quote' button after filling in the car details, it came back with a message saying that I needed to call them. Thats not a good sign, surely??
(And stop calling me shirley)
-
No that aint a good sign.
What the heck is this car? Probably coz its not on their standard list.
-
No that aint a good sign.
What the heck is this car?
Just call me Magnum ;)
-
nice :D
-
Oh course - saw that in the New Members Mods thread.
Mmmmm very nice! :D
Think u will be looking at that kinda money then. Hope ya got a secure garage too.
Oh yea u had trouble with ur Mk4 didnt ya!
Could be why ya gotta high quote.
-
This is turning into a bit of a nightmare!!
Elephant don't even list them as a make they cover, First alternative (which Michael f*cking Winner advertises on TV saying they're for those sort of cars and for people with less than four years of no claims) have just said no.
Car will be garaged, thats why mine always ends up n the driveway.
Plus, I'm moving at the end of the month, driveway will be private not shared as it is at the moment, so should be much more secure.
The Mk4 being done over shouldn't affect this quote, as that's done under my company insurance, and its not a rough area (honest, its just the chavs after my screen/dvd player!!!)
-
But dont Insurance companies share information on claims?
Not actual details but say by postcode? Coz it goes against the area and claim rate, ya know claim hits in that area.
Just guessing here but there must be some sorta link.
-
Ahh, quite possibly
-
Try CIS mate.
19 years old, No NCB, 1 years driving experence, All my mods declaired (yes, all 5 A4 pages of mods) 1.6 motor - ?80 a month and no excess.
-
