Title: FANTASTIC INSURANCE PREMIUM
Post by: dallas99 on 16 July 2003, 01:55
I thought it would make a change to sing the praises of an insurance co.! I've just paid ?417 for a fully comp. policy for my mk1 GTI. Not only was I impressed with the premium gained from Herts Insurance Consultants, but the policy itself with 'Highway' has quality extras, including agreed valuation. I recommend anyone up for a renewal, should phone HIC first, and then phone them last. The more calls you make to other firms between, the lower your premium should be in the end. That's exactly what I did. And the bloke I spoke to, Peter Cook, was not only quick, professional and friendly, but he actually knew what he was talking about. Not like the bird at one firm who asked me what I meant, when I said modifications included the springs. Some of u reading may think the premium's just 'alright', but I should remind you I'm only 28, I had a smash in 2001 and live in London! & the Golf is modified. Granted its a classic car policy, limiting me to 5K miles p.a., the Golf's garaged, and I have access to other vehicles, but it's half of what I pay for my diesel Citroen!!! & it's covered for damaged to both car and track furniture when out on track days. So what r u waiting for? Give 'em a bell, u shouldn't be disappointed! ;) :D

Nice one, glad you're pleased.
Just out of interest, as its an agreed value, limited mileage policy, did you try Footman James?
My circumstances are different in that I'm 36, live a little outside London, no modifications, no track day cover, no previous accidents in the last 3 years and mileage limited to 1500 miles (for now), however it is fully garaged and is only used to take to shows or when the weather is as it has been up until today  8)..........I'm paying ?118 fully comprehensive. I didn't even bother looking elsewhere as I thought that would be a tough quote to beat.

I can't say I did! It was one specialist I forgot to call. It was the policy that sold me. I will give 'em a call next year though. Thanks for the tip! ;)
