Title: Bodyshops in the Northwest
Post by: davoaj on 31 July 2009, 12:30
Looking to get the upper part of my rear bumper smoothed and colour coded in the next few weeks, as Sambo has done recently.

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for decent bodyshops in the Northwest, ideally in the Merseyside/Warrington area?

Cheers

AJ

I have used Paint and Trim in Ellesmere Port a few times, I know he use to do some of the repair work for Vauxhalls fleet cars too. Its located not far from the Lexus dealers near Cheshire Oaks.

Try these guys:

They do a lot of work for Awesome GTI too and I know a few people who've had their trim colour coded etc

More good tips guys, thanks.

Think I have enough to go on. Was supposed to be off this week coming but have had to put it back until the end of August, so will hopefully get it done then.

Cheers

They are on the expensive side of cheap though, but you get what you pay for with them.
If you give them a ring ask to speak to Andy or Mat.  :smug:

Will do Top Cat, your cars looks great so good to know the quality of their work.

How much do people reckon in general to just get the upper part of the rear bumper colour coded on a steel grey gti?

At a guess £200 I reckon as it need's to be sanded and high build primered so it's smooth.

sambo you got any pics of the rear bumper and valance done? or did you do the upper part leaving the lower valance around the centre black?

The black part has been smoothed aswell but I asked for it to be sprayed satin black. Did this so that if I ever want carbon wrapping done, it can be done here aswell as it won't stick to textured plastic from what i've read :afro:

glad you did the upper part only...think that looks the nuts...nice and OEM as well...thinking of leaving the side skirts and front splitter on mine plastic though as I quite like the break along the side and front...

did they say that they could do just the surrounding area and leave the centre without scuffing?  I presume they could as i'd want the centre plastic and not oing down the carbon route...except maybe the grille
