Title: 8V Alternator change?

Quick question, do have to remove the timing cover to remove the alternator on a 1988 8V with a Valeo Alternator???
Anybody help with a yes or no?

No you shouldn't have to remove the timing belt cover.
In the timing belt cover you should find a plastic grommet, which when removed, will expose the Allan head bolt that you're looking for to remove the alternator.
