I am currently just about to upgrade my front discs and pads but am still a little unsure as there maybe better options.
I bought a set of 280mm 20 grooved discs and some mintex pads for £92.99 which is a fair price!! Not sure how much stopping power this will give me?
But I have also looked into S2 2 pot calipers or do i upgrade to a 288mm setup instead.
I am looking into either a BAM 1.8T or VR6 conversion!

I would go for the 312mm set up but that limits you to use a 16 or bigger wheel.
Look in the maintenance section for a how to if you want mega stopping power.

Having read Mikesters "Mk3 Engine Conversion FAQ "
I have decided to go with a 288mm brake conversion with Grooved discs and Mintex pads.
Can anyone tell me what I need?

if you got 280mm at the moment, then stick with them, they are still good enough. although if you think you might want to upgrade in the future to 312, then i think you need 288mm carriers anyway, but not sure.
if you go for 288, then i think you need the lot, calipers, carriers, discs and pads. not sure about the pads.

Cheers fella. I am have some calipers and carriers for £50 quid so i am going to send back the 280mm grooved discs and pads. lol only an extra 20 quid to upgrade to 288mm.
