thats fab!!

(and thanks for not telling me off for being useless on the search :))
-
No problem mate, I know how crap the search can be, especially when you haven't got all the time in the friggin world to look through the results.
-
its just getting the right keyword aint it...
i thought that oven would be a good n, but its aazing what came up :undecided: lol
your cars look good with this smoke effect - im surprised it doesnt get done more!!
will do the job till i get my hands on a vento front! :D

looks good that wayne, really suits the darker cars i think!!
would be rude not to :)
-
hey again, gonna got to the shop soon, but wanted to know... will black hammerite do the trick??
or does it have to be high temp paint??
just a thought as i have tons of that at home, lol!!
-
I used black hammerite, never had any problems, just be careful when you apply it (thin coats)
-
joe, did you leave all the wires on... ive taken the bulbs out, but not sure if i can get the plug and wiring out?
cheers mate
-
You mean so that you can put the lights in the oven? If so I just left mine in
-
Make sure you seal them up well, because if you get a leak, it will condense in the light.
-
hi peeps, done one last night, blood sweat and tears went into it, lol,
will get some pics up later on, but thanks for the help, i know how to do it for the next one now!!
i just shoved it in the oven and hoped for the best in the end, lol!!
cheers!!
-
hi all
ive just done my other light, and put it back on the car, and the lights dont work :(
the inner bulbs come on when ya put the sides light on in the car, but when ya put dipped on nothing happens, same with fulll beam??/
when ya try put full on it half flashes but doesnt click on like normal??
help, i may need the car tonight aswell...:(
-
f**kin hell, i think both the n/s bilbs have blown but looking at them it looks like they have the wrong bulbs in anyway ?!
what bulbs should be in??
they different from the other side any way:(
i hope i dont get called out tonight!!
-
What type of lights are they?
GTI/VR6? If so, you should have H1 bulbs in both
-
On second thoughts have you put the wires back in the correct places?
-
well doing one light at a time i just copied one off the other if ya get what i mean,
not sure what it has in tbh...
but the two in the n/s the one i have done tonight have blown with the looks of it :(
not looked at the o/s - will have to try new bulbs tomoz!!
the fuses are ok, i guess that the other side wont come on if the bulbs have blown??
cheers m8
-
The other side should come on fine. I think you've crossed a wire or two somewhere and somehow joined a positive and a ground. You can try taking the wires off one buy one and put them back making sure the connections are clean.
I'd say wires have been crossed for both to be out though, try swapping a bulb from the O/S to the N/S.
-
May sound really stupid but you have pushed the plugs back into the headlights? lol
I've left them off before and wondered why I've got a light out
-
yeah defo mate, lol
i did do that both times, but this is when they are on, lol
do any of ya know what colour wires go to which bit?
im such a tit,
do ya reckon i have blown these bulbs if i have go them the wrong way round?
it was going dark when i was putting them back on!
-
Can't really see bulbs being blown with wires crossed as such, as if it was positive to positive it would to jack, same with negative to negative. If you got negative to positive it would just light up.
Do the filaments look OK?
If both lights are out I'd say a fuse, try swapping them about.
How hot was the oven?
-
only one hindred for just over a min...
i had the other one in for longer cos it was a b!tch to get the lense off!
-
The flicker coming on briefly does sound like bulbs, the filament just touching.
Do yourself a favour, plug your Hella Twins back in and see if they come on, if they do, take the bulbs out and put them in your GTi lights, they both use H1 bulbs.
100 is a bit high but I doubt filament blowing heat.
-
cheers m8 will have a look tomoz
will let ya know!
bloody things!
-
OK good luck!
-
He said he removed the bulbs before the lights went in the oven
-
hey guys.
sorry was Knackered last night
i did have to leave one bulb in but that is the inner one side light!
its just puzzling me cos in sure nothing has been crossed .
what are all 3 bulb that should be in there? are the dipped are main both the h1?
gonna go and have a look again now! cheers
-
ok had a look!
the wiring is the same way round on both lights!
i put my one spare h1 bulb in and tried to see if it come on and it has blown that?
help please im desperate now.
Gf i go buy a new set is it gonna blow them all up?
has anyone got a pic or the wiring in the back of their Gti lights?
-
and it has blown the left hand side low beam fuse :(
bloody hell
-
Think i might do this myself.... looks well nice.
-
woo!!
sorted, very bad earth problem, lol!!
chris - do it, ya cant tell too much difference but ya can tell they are different if ya know what i mean, looks brill on mine now!!
will get some pics up when i finish work tonight or tomoz!!
-
heh, cheers robz.
lookin forward to them.
-
Good result. Earth touching a positive?
-
no, what it was...
the o/s had a bit missing off the actual light fitting, and had a h4 bulb in there!
so i got a h1 fitment and some new bulbs still didnt work!
then looking on the n/s and the bloody light fitting wasnt earthing properly with the bulb,
but all is goos now!!
thanks for your help, really appreciated it!!
-
No probs, glad you got it sorted.
