What level of ground was this pic taken on? Was it on a slope or anything?
-
slight incline of my driveway and wheels turned slightly, so is this normal
-
normal if you have lowered it.
-
not lowered, totally standard set up
-
I would see what it looks like on flat ground with the wheels straight as Mikesters looked a bit funny but was fine after we looked at it on flat ground with the wheel straight
-
They are not normal, whether lowered or not.
They are worn out, and need to be replaced.

Mine and alot of other people here have that happening with lowering.
Does it creak and knock when turning?
-
Mine had a gap when I lowered it but those are shot and need replacing asap.
-
what is worn? cause at the mot they only replaced the top mounts.

It is the top mounts that have failed again or have not been put together correctly.

This tends to happen when poor quality mounts are used.
The rubber goes out of shape.
They should be replaced when they look like that.
Here is what they should look like:-

If new mounts have been recently fitted then they are poor quality items.

its going in on friday to get new front brakes so i will tell them to redo the mounts, thanks for the replies guys

could this cause a kind of banging noise when breaking? , i put it down to my brakes but.....
-
Hard to say, but it is possible.
The only way to tell is to jack the car up, grap the spring and see if there is any 'give'
-
will try that tommorrow and see what happens, thanks for the help
-
just go it back, guy said top mounts are fine, although he took them off and replaced them anyway, needed new brake pads as one had split and was stuck to disc

Has the gap now gone?
-
yes it has

yes it has
Good stuff. If you checked my link then you would of seen how new ones should look.
The mechanic was lying to you, new mounts should not have any noticeable gap.
-
Good result

Will the top mounts explain the horendous knocking coming from the front especially when braking hard down hill.
coz i think i got the same problem.. The handleing is fooked and it knocks and bangs over the slightest bumps.
Its driving me nuts and the rear is just as bad to.... any suggestions.

Check your anti-roll bar links. They come undone sometimes, like on our Golf, they squeaked and knocked when braking ect.
My top mounts are raised, obviously worn out. What is the disadvantage to this, other then having raised mounts? (Sorry for acting ignorant)

If they are left and fail the shock could punch a hole in your bonnet.
