Title: 8v GTi Gearbox....

Does anybody know if a mk2 8v gearbox fits a mk3 8v..?? Whats the differance.?
or does anybody have a cheap mk3 gearbox for sale.?? Cheers

MK2 8v box will fit must use MK2 clutch lower final drive will make acceleration faster but top end lower also lower mpg and speedo error.
MK2 16v box will drop straight on as above lower final drive
I have a Mk2 16v box on mine.
Should cost you about £60 for either MK2's or Mk3's from scrappy
Someone will be along to confirm this either way shortly  :smiley:

as above really, you can get away with just using a MK2 8v friction disc if using MK2 GTI box, but whole clutch change is advisable either way.
