My distributor needs replacing, my hall sensor is naf. I am planning to sell the car and ger a vr but not willing to pay £100 for a new one so does anybody have one which has come a car that was running fine and willing to sell it?

You may be able to get one off somebody who is breaking a car mate, i got mine from ecp a bosch one. Was like 80 quid.

What symptoms have you got with your golf mate just out of interest as i think mine is playing up at the moment.
-
The car wont rev past 5000 rpm and feals really sluggish with flat spots while accelerating, i have other sensor issues aswell at the minute.

ECU is in safe mode,
Common sign on this is your timing being out. Have you replaced your timing belt? It might be worth having it checked.
-
Only needs to be one tooth out on the belt to cause this!
-
One more tooth and you will slap some valves up

Try Volksmania Tel: 01454 329990 - £20 (inc. vat) for my lovely reconditioned bosch last week
