my wife pressed the clutch down today then nothing? any ideas ?rac man said could be the pin? thanks
-
Could be the cable snapped or the release arm inside the gearbox.
-
does the clutch pedal stay pressed down or does it come up again as normal?
If it stays pressed down (by the spring behind it) then cable could be snapped or the clutch cable clip could be broken.
-
Does it jump when you start it in gear?
-
The pedal stays down.

The pedal stays down.
If the cable is ok then the release lever inside the gearbox has failed.
-
and if its an 8v I have the full kit you need to repair the ratchet (going cheap )
-
It might also be the clutch that has failed.

I would seek a bit more advice, if it is the release lever then it is repairable.

My clutch went to the floor and stayed down, car was recovered by the AA back to the main dealer and cost £160 all in, that was a year ago.
