I need spigot rings on my alloys, and just been out to try and measure the hubs and alloys. I only measured the front and rain stopped play! Are the rear hubs the same size? And I measured 60-55 is that about right?
Cheers!
-
Front and rear should be the same and the size is 56.1 I believe.

this site suggests 57.0 http://www.carlsalter.com/old_wheel_fitments.html

I stand corrected it is 57.1
-
cheers! I just had a dodge tape measure and it was tipping it down!
-
What alloys are they for?
-
I don't know what they are to be honest. They were on the car when I bought it. I will get pics up when I get home. But they are 18" multi spoke with a polished lip and vw made in Germany stamped in the casting

18's !?!? get rid of them asap!
-
why is that mate???
-
18"s are way too big for a mk3, will kill the ride and handling.
-
lol, 17s are bad enough!!
nearly went arse over tit again in the wet today!!
-
I have it lowered 25mm all round on bilstein coilovers with front upper and lower strut brace and it handles a dream! The ride is a little hard but nothing I can't live with! Plus it looks good!
-
I'm finding it hard post pics, but you can check the car out on eBay, the item number is. 250461282116
And if anyone can tell me what the alloys are or what they are off I owe you a pint!! :smug:

haha, one day you will realise 18's on a mk3 are truely ridiculous unless they're bentley rims or somin. also why would you buy coilies only to lower it 25mm!

btw they look like raceland coilies not bilstein
-
Aghh right, was told they are bilstien. You know what the alloys are??
-
Alloys are something aftermarket with a VW badge stuck on, certainly not fitment on any factory car.
Weirdly though I think theose 18'ss really suit the car and it looks pretty good.

cheers! The alloys do have a vw and a made in Germany stamp made into the wheel. That's what made me think they are factory.
-
Really? Odd. I'm 99.9% sure they're not a gen VW rim.

Looks a nice car, I think if you do some checking I am sure those wheels were an factory option on mk4's
I still think 18"s are too big but they do seem to suit it.
-
Does look proper nice like.
I'd probs whack them wheels on mine lol. looks superb
-
I bet even with 215/35/18's they rub everywhere you can tell he has had issues by the fact it is only running a 25mm drop.
-
as it is I don't have any rubbing issues with the 25mm drop. Had 5 adults in over speed bumps and all good! Don't think I would drop it any more than 25mm because it looks good as it is!

You will not be able to lower it anymore, 18's are a lot bigger then the standard size wheels even with low profiles, if you were running 15" you can go down to at least a 80mm drop or even more.
Seems pointless to me to have coilovers fitted for such a small drop.
-
pointless in your eyes maybe. But I didn't spend the cash on getting them, so I'm not assed! Plus when I put my standard alloys on in winter it gives me the option to drop it then.
