Hi, I have a Golf MK4 1.8T AUM 2002 (02) plate and was wondering how do i remove the front grill badge, i was told to twist anti-clockwise and it just wont budge! I also want to replace it once it has been removed with a black one but not sure wether the one that i am looking at will fit. I have the Grill badge which is slightly thicker looking than the one i want to buy... does anyone know if the thinner grill badges will still fit.
Many Thanks
James

you need to take the grill off. there is 2 cap type things either side above the VW badge. then you need to pull the grill either side (the top bar, far left then far right) then there is a clip above the VW badge that you need to press to pull it away. then lift from the bumper also at the far right and left.
you shouldnt need to remove the bonnet release to get to the badge. just lift the grill up and push the clips out with a flathead and push your new badge on...
