Title: Brake lights staying on-help please!!
Post by: tattyoldwagon on 31 August 2004, 16:47
Hey guys and girls,

Hope you've all been keeping well and enjoying our super summer!!

Anyway, can someone help with a strange problem I have. I get in my car start her up then as soon as I put the brakes on the brake lights come on!! Trouble is they're staying on?? Once lit they do change in brightness slightly (brake's on/brighter) but don't go off. I found by "wiggling" the connector to the brake servo switch they go off and then work ok again for a bit, then it all starts again shortly after. Now it's got worse and I have to disconnect the plug to get them to turn off, reconnect and they come on again. Please help, as I can't really use the car now, slightly on the dangerous side not having working brake lights.

Thanks in advance

Michael

Sounds like the switch has seized open. Get a new one from the likes of GSF.
