From what I've read it looks like the GTi and VR6 got longer front arms, different ball joints, hub carriers, steering tie rods and the 5 stud hubs.
I've been looking into whether I can mix and match various parts, but I'm coming to the conclusion that I should either swap the entire plus set up over or modify the 4 stud set up.
I imagine that the only real handling benefits of the plus system are that it gives a wider track and more camber.

the gti/vr all have larger anti roll bars, stronger wishbones, uprated steering rack etc and you can't mix and match but you could fit the full set up (converting to 5 stud) check lazylunatics thread as he's gone from 4 to 5 stud

Thanks.
Yes, we just looked at the vagcat website and realised that the rack is different too.
Did they make any 5 stud steel wheels?
Trouble is I have to then convert the rear over and I've got an estate with drums on the rear. So then bias has to be sorted out.

Yes you can get 15" as fitted to GL's and 16"s from the new Beetle or some Seats.

OK, thanks.
Someone told me that it's possible to press the 4 stud hubs into the 5 stud carriers.

As said on cgti the 4 stud mk3 is widetrack already, pretty sure the wishbones are the same length.
The only difference with the rack is the gti one is quicker.
