Title: Did the MKV GTI make Top Gear's cool wall?
Post by: starlingadey on 26 July 2009, 18:21
I keep seeing old episodes of Top Gear on Dave (can't miss em!) And just wondered if anyone can remember whether or not the GTI made the cool section of the wall! No great reason other than curiosity!!

Probably but i dont think you saw them put it up. Some cars were just on there!

About 2 years ago they gave away a fridge one and the gti was one of the magnets.

I remember those, actually I think it was nearly 4 years ago they came out. We hadn't had our GTI long and because only the missus was driving it, I kept putting it in the "seriously un-cool" section to annoy her.

I am pretty sure it did, as JC loved it, I'm pretty sure it was under cool.

I remember the R32 was timed when they compared it to the BMW 130i. Don't remember it being on the cool wall, but a MK5 GTI did come with the fridge magnet set I got free with Top Gear mag.

The GTI MKV was in the cool section and the rest of the range in the uncool section as Jezza said everyone was buying MKV diesels
