Hi everyone
been a long time works kept me busy in this crunch climate feel lucky.
Got a small problem mi 97 golf gti keeps cutting out only niggle after 1 yrs ownership.
Done the usual leads plugs etc but when i got it going and checked everything fuses relays wiring noticed that two relays are bloody hot
white relay with number 30 plastered on it
black relay with number 100 plastered on it
check haynes manual wiring but kind of got an headache.
Can anyone shed abit of light on what they are and are these best bought from my vw dealership (oe than pattern)
On a different note had my timing belt done recently the cars revs past 5k but seems not as nippy prior to the belt being done, might sound odd but does changing the belt knock anything out of sync.(reason had it on my 156 alfa when belts were done)
If so can anyone recommend a good tuner for mi golf relatively close to me I`m in Rotherham don`t mind alittle travelling.
cheers everyone.

cheers boneyb
that helped alot especially with what relay 30 is it seems a common thing too.
weird thing is can`t find out what relay 100 does and is in relay position 4 in my golf from the diagram.
next to relay 30 which is in relay position 3 on my golf.

just a quick update.
after changing my relays the car ran really well for a while but failed after rac turned up mi coils backed up now  whilst he was testing with the vw coil he carries with him it looks like the coil i have on my car at the mo is a cheapo.
going to get one from gsf has the rac guy told me the vw oe ones are the bosch ones gsf sell just a different stamp on them and at a sensible price.
