Title: TDI? 130? 150?

Hi im looking at getting a either a 130 or 150 mk4 gt tdi what would be the better one to go for? would i be better of getting a 130 and then getting it remapped or just getting a 150? how much is a remap and would i need to get a diffrent intercooler to bring it up to the same as 150?

Go for a 130.  There is so many on the market that you'll get the car specced just how you want it.  A simple remap will take it to 170bhp/280lbs so it'll be quicker than a 150 straight away.  Nothing other than a remap is needed.

I'd say get a 150  :evil: :cool: although I am biased  :rolleyes:
Check out Rhyso's thread to see what a remapped 130 is like, R-Tech are the boys, cheap prices too  :wink:

do you have a link to this thread sorry dont seem to be able to find it! R -Tech are they the ones based in leicstershire?

Why the pic of the broken clutch?

Is that common on the 150 or just tdi's in general?

he's just trying to wind you up

clutch failure is common on ALL cars - it wears out eventually

Just because with a remap these derv engines generate loads of torque.

Go for the 150 with a  remap you are straight to 190..:)

and what sort of perfomance over the 1/4mile? low 15's?

a remapped 150 won't like doing many standing 1/4s on a standard clutch.  I think 15s sound about right but standard suspension doesn't help.
