Hi All,
Is there an easy way to find out which of the two blacks the Mk3 GTI uses, I have?
Not got the origional booklets, so no colour stamp and I know msot cars sueually have them in the car somewhere, but can't find anything in this one?
Thanks.

is it metallic or solid as thats the 2 differences

look closely at the paintwork, if you see tiny specs of crystals then its metallic or pearlescent.

So as there's no obvious metalic flakes, I'm safe to use VW Plain Black?
Halfrauds listed 2 I think, Black and something along the lines of Heavy Black or something ... So would I be safe with just ... "Black" lol ... ?
Thanks.
... L041?
-
If it is not met black, the paint code is L041 flat black, mine was the same, rarish colour to find Halfords dont make a touch in stick by the way I had to go to VW.
-
Could just ask VW to find it off the chassis number/reg

Dont buy it from halfrauds the paint is sh@te IMO
Go to VW for sticks and spray cans not much more expensive and it matches.

look in your boot, and by the space saver and the widow maker and stuffs
there should be a little sticker saying your paint code, should be 4 digits and from that you can find it out.
