Title: In B-Chi's Install...
Post by: Red_Tekk on 23 July 2009, 08:51
Just wondered, what is the alternator output used for exactly?! How is this different from your usual positive battery output to a ground point on the chassis?!

alternater powers your cars electrical system when the car is running and charges the battery

Nothing special about my alternator. Just has a bigger cable coming off it!

Thats what I'm asking, do you use it to power the amps etc?! I normally use the positive output from my battery?!

Mate I'm confused. The alternator charges the batteries & the amps discharge the batteries.

There is nothing different in my charging system than the standard. I just use bigger cables!

Yeah.

The alternator isn't wired directly into the amps.
