Title: which dog guard ?
Post by: qureshia on 22 July 2009, 21:42
have a lab puppy (big puppy ) and just sold the wifes xc90 , planning to get a golf mk5 as a stand in car while she makes up her mind on what next (it's also some fun for me)

Just wondered if anyone knows what are the best dog guards - normally use a crate but he has out grown it now and a dog guards seems a more permy solution.

cheers

PS seen the full height ones on ebay for £80 but have no idea if they are any good

I bought the VW item from the dealer...

Its great - my 40kg lab is fine in the back.

Does your MK5 have curtain airbags?  I'm after a dog guard but the VW says it's not suitable

I discussed it with the parts guy at the dealer and he recommended this one for my car...

I don't know the answer to the question about curtain airbags but there was no warning about this when the guard was fitted...

basically the curtain airbags will be affected if you are in a crash...the air bags wont deploy and may push the guard out of situ.  but TBH got the £80 one as the other is ridiculously expensive
