Possibly two words that shouldnt be used in the same sentence?,does anyone else get constantly nagged at that they spend to much time and effort on the golf? and! "imagine the car you could have by now with all the money uve spent on it" my oh my she just dosnt get it! ha ha ha just wanted to be reasured im not alone.......funny how she has a big smile on her face when i take her out in it tho huh! ha!

My GF is ok with my obsession. If she was not, I would change her.............................................
-
She just rolls her eyes now.
-
Yarp, she moans I'm always on this and other Golf/Diesel forums
Don't care really. She has her obsessions, I have mine. She's a woman and will always moan no matter what I do/say/think/enjoy/want.
Although I did get her giving me a hand last weekend when I done my back in changing the PAS and Alternator belts, her father was like a woman, "don't loosen that, don't smack that with a hammer... Oooooohhhh! you'll never get it back together now"
-
I wouldn't say she nags, but she does despair at the amount of cash I spend on it and seeing as my Rallye has just broken down again, I'm resigned to agree with her.
-
Thankyou i feel better
-
My Mrs says I'm always in a much better mood generally when I have an old golf to play with.........and then grumbles when I spend hours working on it and spend money on spares................... :undecided: I reckon I spend less in a year on the golf than she does on so**ing handbags and purses.........Just can't win
-
You've misunderstood your missus, hands bags are essential items. Golfs are not.
-
How many extra BHP'S does a gucci handbag give ya??...........Exactly thats that settled then!
-
The wife nags me all the time to get rid of it just cos i put the log book in here name she thinks it's here's why i done that dont ask :embarassed:
-
Now theres a school boy error if i ever heard one!
-
My GF is into golf a little too, although she wants a fiat 500 abarth.
-
The MK4 is my wifes!!! I am still in the process of getting a mk2, might have a swap on the go with a guy on here for my scoobie, fingers crossed he manages to get the funds together.

This man speaks the truth. I think my gf is used to all things VW now seeing as I've been into aircooled for the 4 or so years I've been with her. The mk2 is a step up to her as it has heating and doesn't reak of fuel
She even wants a Lupo as her first motor
-
my mrs won't drive my mk2 because she can't get the seat close enough because of the gear stick hitting the recaro seat bolster when attempting 5th. It was obviously designed to be a man's car!!
-
God Bless Mr Cadbury
-
If I get any grief I just remind the GF that I had to see my MKV GTI to by a diesel estate when the sprog was born. Or the old "I bought it off e-bay, it was a bargin!" some times works. At least she loves driving the MK2.
-
You chopped a MKV GTI for 1 sprog?
Jeez, with 2 kids I'd still have kept it
With the next one, I think a 7 seater may be on the cards :lipsrsealed:

I got 2 sprogs and a dog and we have a mk4gti and a scoobie, which will soon be replaced by a mk2 gti.
4 doors and a cup holder is all that yoo need for a family car.

Sold "our" campervan and bought the MKII with the proceeds. You can imagine how popular that was!

A Morego 250 remapped with power grip wishbones and AP 4 pots, MK5 GTI, OH and the GF's MKIV GT TDI. Bought a Mondeo (yes I know) ST estate and then MKII with the money I sold the 4pots for. So you can see why I can win with the emotional black mail.
Still the MKII IS more fun to drive than the MKV. There is more important things than power and grip belive it or not.
-
i get nagged to the max i spend more time on my mk2 than with the missis but the mk2 doesnt moan doesnt nag and never answers back so who would i rather spend time with ermmmmm...........
-
my mrs hates my mk2 but she knows its either live with it or pay for taxis home when she has been on a night out!
-
i wouldnt be happy if my girlfriend said that to me lol
she said its just an old crappy car once or words to similar effect.. we didnt speak for a while.
-
As far as im concerned my gti is the Mrs.
Except much more reliable, tells me whats wrong with her, is cheaper and doesnt moan when i wake her up in the mornin.
Only down side she always has to use rubbers
Can u tell im single
-
i don't get these sort of problems
-
My gf says she loves my mk2! Her actual words were "it's the best car you've had". (I should tell u I've had 3 classic mini's and a Ibiza cupra though.... not much competition. Haha!)
She wants to drive it but I'm not so sure with a brand spanking set on schmit th's on it

I have a more vivid picture of how popular this would have been than most.

Well I am the missus with the golf and luckily no, my other half and I spend ages talking about what plans we have for the golf, how much money we need to save up etc etc. And he's been very generous in buying things like a new suspension set up for my xmas present one year. I'm very lucky
We also talk a lot about saving up for a sexy M3
I think it's best when you have the same interests lol
-
the gf doesnt like mk2's "they old and crap looking" she says
good ol backhand does the trick normally
