Hi All,
I have just joined the world of VW's ;D buying a P reg 8v. But I am looking round on the web and cannot find performance figures for it anywhere.
Does anybody know what they are?
Cheers

Cheers Concept, I see you have got 140BHP. What have you done to yours?
What about 0-60 & top speed? Any ideas.

i've removed the cat and fitted full powerflow exhaust system. kent cam and vernier pulley and modified the original air box. i haven't done 0-60 times but she'll get up to 135 any day of the week! i'm now working on a spare engine doing absolutely everything to it ! i'm aiming for 170 bhp?

;D That will be a beast!!
I am really not going to touch the Golf to much as I have a Mk3 Escort RS1600I which is my Toy/track day weapon. The Golf is for the evryday driver so don't want to spent shed loads on it.
Keep me posted on developments I'd like to here how you get on?
Cheers

0-60 is 10.3
top speed is 120 ish i think.
-
I have done 122mph in mine with some left , was well in a rush!
-
See a LOT slower than a 16v! :smug: I have seen 135mph with a bit left!

I too have an 8v on a P reg. Good choice me friend, especially if you do alot of town driving.
0-60 is 10 secs though it feels faster due to the low end pull which dies at about 4000 rpm.
Top speed is about 120-125.
Its the most reliable car I have owned mpg ain't bad either. I have seen 44.5 mpg on the motorway and 40.3 driving about town, though in traffic, it barely reaches 20.
