Title: New to VW's, Turbo's and the Forum
Post by: andy_airsoft on 22 July 2009, 15:50
Hiya boys and gals

Just swapped my MG ZS 180 for a 2001 Golf mk4 GTI 1.8T AUM with ko3s turbo and stage 1 chipped.

After owning so many N/A cars I thought it best to buy a turbo car and wow what a difference a turbo makes.

The guy I swapped with said it should be around the 190-200bhp mark with the ko3s turbo and the chip but will get it RR to see at some point.

It's a rough diamond but the engine seems to be fine.

If anyone lives in the Southampton area who owns a GTI turbo it would be great to hear from you as I'm a little green on the whole turbo thing.

I'm going to get the belts done soon as the guy I swapped it with said it had been down but no receipt and a major service as he said it was FSH but yet again no paperwork to prove it.

All seems really clean and tidy engine wise and its had new discs and pads as well as a new turbo and tyres all round.

Shame its got none standard wheels but will be changing them soon for something VW and nicer.

Dont worry I used to be signed up to all the MG forums so I will be using the search button before I post silly questions lol.

Anyways I've wasted enough of anyone that's reading this.

Cheers

Andy

Praise the lord !!!

Welcome to the forum mate ;)

There is a RR day being organised over at JKM in Pompey for October? I think it is, maybe September . . . The MK4 boys are very friendly and helpful (being and ex MK4 owner I still linger around there like a bad smell) and will sort you right out.
