/begin rant
Been looking for a stubby aerial that DOESN'T affect reception on my MKIV.
Found this Sharan Style Stubby from parts4euro.com:
http://www.parts4euro.com/DCShop/product_info.php?cPath=1_51_266&products_id=8
It's NAFF :(
Been around my area and whenever I'm stood, it seems to be ok, completely rubbish when I'm moving though!
I expected it to be a bit better than the one I've got from halfords considering the price :(
I'll go towards the city tomorrow once I've got my other 2 new tyres and see if it's any better - anyone recommend a DECENT stubby aerial? :(
/end rant.
EDIT: Looks awesome though ;)

i just got one of the alloy stubby aerials and have no problem with it
-
I did have a cheap alloy one off ebay which was just as naff (probably because it was off ebay)
The thing is, I want one that's black. The one I got off ebay WAS black until the paint just stripped off it. humph.
I might consider the mazda? one that northeast has..

Is that thing like 10cm? (Think I read that from another of your posts)
Hows the reception?
-
reception is good - even works in the depths of the Welsh Valleys
-
Awwww are you missing Galaxy? :P
-
I have one of the Mazda ones and no probs with my reception.
-
Shut it bellman.
Ok cool I'll have a look into either of em cheers
-
You may aswell go on their website download the tracklist and just stick it on repeat. Ive heard thats all Galaxy DJ's do :P
-
its not galaxy anymore, its Vibe lol. Could be worse, could be that excuse of a radio station Heart
-
I'm not sure with the mk4's but most "decent" vw's have an amplified aerial which doesnt get affected by a stubby, It could be worth having a look and see if its working or fit an after market booster
-
What are these aerials I see in peoples windscreens?
I'm trying to find one that can be used to amplify my signal..
-
aha :D Sorted!
Went to halfords to have a look around, spotted this windscreen amplified aerial, £15.
Yes Please.
Got home, took my time fitting it so that there are no wires showing and it's not too intrusive, passengers portion of window.
Done! Reception is amazing where ever I go and I still get the look of the stubby aerial :D

got a picture of this?
-
will get one once I've finished the car :)
