Title: how to replace or DIY a head liner for a golf gti 1991? plz...

i just bought a gti 1991... it doesnt have a head liner..  i can see metal and wires...
can i buy any head liner from a 1995-97 gti? can i make one by my self?...

you need to speak to a company called Newton commercial,they specialise in interior parts for mk1s but have just started making parts for the mk2 from full carpet sets in various colours underlay,they also make a headliner kit,they have a stall at most vw shows or you can call them number is 01728 832880 or the website is http://www.newtoncomm.co.uk they will be able to sort you out.

mk3 one wont fit, needs to be a mk2 one. getting hard to find good ones but there are still some around. its not particularly difficult to fit, just a bit fiddly. need to make sure you have all the bits for it!
