Title: Question on tyre sizes
Post by: d4w50n on 20 July 2009, 18:34
On a set of tyres with rating 165/65/r14, AFAIK, the 65 is the "profile", which from what I understand is the height of the rubber expressed as a percentage of the width.

So on an old set of steels I have with those tyres fitted, will rubbers of a different profile fit the same steel, for example a 165/75/r14 or 165/85/r14?

The way the wheels are, I think they'd look better with taller rubber (personal preference).

Any advice would be awesome

Not really as they will put your speedo out.
