Title: stalling carbed cab
Post by: redders on 20 July 2009, 15:54

hi all, friend of mine has karman cab carbed version .....had fuel problems being that the car would run for a short time then conk out and wouldnt start for ages, he has changed fuel pump, filter and fuel resovoir type thing.......still didnt help.
now he has removed rear seats and removed cover plate over the pipes...with this done car will run ok, so does this mean theres  blockage in the return?

cheers

possibly, disconnect the return in the bay and blow down it. if you hear it bubbling in the tank then its ok.

could be carb iucing though usually it will start almost straight away, but even so check the warm air pipe is there, the metal shroud on the manifold is there and the vac pipes to the side of the airbox are hooked up. last of all make sure the warm air diverter flap actually opens when the engine is running.
