Post by: KelvinIOW on 28 August 2004, 14:01
Is the hub housing on the GTI MK2 the same as any other MK2 golf can i replace my hub with anyone
Cos i can get hold of one from a standard golf any help would be great as its my last hope to be able to fix my car!

If that doesnt work then i may be having to strip the car of all good parts and sell them seperatly i dont wanna do that but i might have to :(

I've had a look in the ETKA and assuming your vehicle is 1991, the part number of the housing is: 191 407 256D
This assumes you don't have ABS as the housing is a different part number if ABS is fitted: 191 407 256C

All the following engine codes use the same housing: NZ, HZ, 2G, PN, RF, EZ, JP, ME, 1V, JR, MF, RA, SB, RH, GU, RP, RV, PB, PF, ABN

There is another housing for the same year: 357 407 256C
This is fitted to engine codes: KR, PL, PG

Hope that helps

Engine codes/Engine sizes:-

NZ, 2G = 1300
HZ = 1050
PN, RF, EZ, JP, ME, 1V, JR, MF, RA, SB, ABN = 1600
RH, GU, RP, RV, PB, PF = 1800
