Title: Arches and Brake Calipers - Cleaning and Protecting
Post by: Kermit on 19 July 2009, 10:23
Looking for some "OCD" advice.  Gonna be whipping my wheels off and figured I would sort the arches and brake calipers.

1) Whats the best way to do the arches (power wash, hand - any good products for helping shift the sh*t etc)
2) Calipers - can I clean these with billberry, polish and apply some poorboys wheel seal (maybe top with a wax)?
3) Calipers have also dulled slightly (maybe because of acidic AG wheel clean I use to use!) - whats good for restoring?

Cheers

I'll try and answer your questions.

1) Arches - You can't go wrong with a decent brush, some All Purpose Cleaner and your Karcher.

2) Calipers - Bilberry will be fine, they may need a few hits depending how bad they are though. As for waxing, you could try some Poorboy's Wheel Sealant but how long it would last I don't know. Can't do any harm though.

3) Restoring Calipers, they probably just look dull because they are so dirty, give them a good scrub and see how they look.

Hope that helps a bit,

Chris
