I know this seems stupid but how would a 16v compare against a corrado vr6.In a straight the corrado will easily win but what if it was a twisty road?
-
the corrado would still win man ;).
but it would be more interesting than a straight line race :)
-
Yep, it would still win on the twisties.

depends whos driving, If it was you and I racing, Then the Carrardo, Because of better acceleration out of the corners. However if it was a pro driving, They would probally utilise the superiour handling to hit the lines perfectally in the golf and bring the car out of the turns quicker, Which the carrardo would find it harder to stock to the lines and would have a slower exit speed, The golf could utilise this in order to coutner the superious acceleration of the carrardo. However it would still be an extreamly close race.

Thats assuming that a MK2 Golf Gti handles better than a Corrado VR6 which in my experience isn't true. The difference between the two is negligable, yeah the Golf is lighter, but the Corrado has passive rear steer doesn't it?

I was only wondering about the corrado as I was talking to a corrado owner and he made out that the corrado was the fastest thing on earth. He reckoned that the golf R32 were slow and it had no chance against his corrado VR6.

I'd like to see a race between standard VR6 Corrado and R32, I reckon it would be close.
-
It would be close as the R32 would be heavier. In the dry it would fair but in the wet the R32 would eat it.

VR6 hands down

hmmmm interesting, the r32 has 4wd and about 60 more bhp.
i think the r32 would have it by a whisker ;)
