well ive decided to hang on to my golf for another couple of years due to insurance being stupidly high for a gt tdi. anyways, i want to do the relavent dash peices in r32 style alluminium colour, basically how do i prepare the plastic for spraying? wet and dry? Also will halfords do suitable spray paint for the dash peices? Thanks
Have decided on a few mods which i will be doing in the new few weeks.
1: VW aero wiper it for front
2: Rear spoiler, probs get a gen one off vw.
3: Interior spray up like r32.
4: Iriduim spark plugs
5: Possible remap by revo.
6: smoth airbox+ dsg air intake
7: German pressed plates
Any other mods people would reccomend ?

Yeah wet and dry it down, i have done this onmine, if you find my thread on it there are a few pics, but basically wet and dry, then primer, wet and dry, primer, wet and dry, colour, wet and dry, colour, wet and dry, lacqure, weta nd dry lacqure, all from halfrauds, did mine in black to be a bit different.
This is how i did mine some say there is no need to wet and dry between, lacqure, number of coats etc is up to you, depends on the finish you want!

plenty of mods mate good list for starters tho in answer to spraying your trim etc yes make sure its clean rub down with 600 grit wet & dry to 'key' primer (use plastic primer as this bonds to your trim and wont crack or chip) spray 2-3 coats of primer ideally rub down inbetween with 1200 grit to make it smooth and use wet 2-3 coats of your chosen colour and rubbed down inbetween with wet 1200 grit again make sure its dust free then spray clearcoat ideally 2-3 coats wait 10 mins after first coat then apply 2nd coat then after 10 mins apply 3rd coat as said you can rub down in between but in all honesty it doesn't matter hth

Just got to try and get these damm interior panels done in time for saturday (castlecombe), but i doubt it will be ready for then
