Been offered a straight swap for my gti with a gt tdi, its a 1999 model, full gti spec, spoiler etc. the car has covered 87,000 miles, has fsh. however it has a intermidant fault code which apperntly points to injection pump so will require new at some point, but car runs fine. Can the 110 be remapped? any idea what figures? thanks.

You can remap it and i think they remap to around 140bhp or somewhere close to that

well no longer sure if i will be getting the tdi as i got a price of a new injection pump off vw.........£1400, thats with a £400 surcharge but im not paying £1000 for a injection pump
-
Was the car scanned with Vagcom? :undecided:
I've not heard of a injection pump failing. You could puck up another engine at that price!!
Any chance you can get the code thats showing??
-
yea he had it plugged into vag com and gave me the code, looked it up and was something like fuel quantity value defective/ fuel quantity valve blocked or damaged. code is code-P1562
I got a price from local bloke who strips and rebuilds the pumps but that is still £600 odd. so i dont think its worth doing tbh.
