Title: green wire from control unit

I have been messing about behind the fuse panel on my gti 16v 91 kr and have come across a green wire with a black spade connector not connected to anything and i cant see anywhere it could  connect0 to i have traced the wire back to the control unit for idling stabilization box behind the center console. I have had a look in the back of the haynes but cant find the unit anywhere. has anybody got any ideas or is it just a spare connector

i think this is for air con, or perhaps something to do with models that had a cat.  either way it is not required on most UK spec MK2s so leave it be :)
