Get a genuine Ross Tech cable as most on ebay may not work with your car.
If just for your car only get a VCDS micro CAN cable.

Was thinking of getting a lead myself, but $249 seems a bit steep - it wasn't clear looking at that link, but does this include a licence to run the full version of the software?
Cheers.

Yes it'll be fully licenced and the associated software comes free of charge including any updates from Ross Tech.

well worth the money too if you're planning on keeping your car for 3 years or more. You'll save that much by not visiting the dealers everytime you have a problem and if you're quite proficient at it you can help out other members in your area for some beer tokens
