Cam cover gasket is quite common.
-
Oil temp sensor
-
Where are you seeing the oil?
-
on the floor!!
Ive looked under the car and under the bonnet and cant see where its coming from
-
Maybe sump gasket
-
Or drain plug have you changed the oil recently?
-
Give the engine bay a good degrease with some Gunk or Jizer, then see if you can tell

My Mk.3 Valver developed a small leak from the oil pressure sender just above the filter.

It seems to be coming from a sensor at the front of the engine on top of where the oil filter is? Is that the oil presure sensor?
-
Anyone??

oil pressure sender as quoted above in this thread

Cheers

Silly question but do I need to drain the oil before I fit it or do I just unbolt 1 and bolt the new one in??
-
If I was you, I would do an oil and filter change. Can easily be done for around £15 for both oil and filter.... or you could get expensive oil and the price can be alot higher.... As long as you do your oil and filter change regularly then cheap oil isnt really an issue.
so.... drain your oil..... replace the sender, put new oil filter on and the Sump nut. (new sump nut and washer is ideal) Then fill it up to the correct level.
Hopefully.... Leakless oil and clean oil, meaning good for your engine
Hope this helps

no need to change oil or filter if they were done recently, just unbolt the sensor, bolt in the new 1 and top up your oil to the correct level
mine hasnt lost any oil since
-
cool so no oil is going to come out when I take the sensor out, I've only just done oil and filter change
-
no oil will come out at all - all of the oil is under the sensor.
