Title: Ali radiators
Post by: Reasty on 15 July 2009, 23:49
There's a company on eBay selling aluminum rads for 16v,s they claim upto 40% better cooling than the standard radiator can anyone back this up? Are Ali ones better? they are up for 165 quid is this a reasonable price as I'm tempted.

depends what size rad it is the reason they are normaly better because they have a bigger surface area to displace heat do you need better cooling?

as the standard rad is capable of keeping the engine with operating range i dont see the point,  water temp drop thermostat closes.

ali ads are all about been abel to use a smaller rad hence lighter and less collant so lighter again

they are a direct fitment for the original so exactly the same size as oe part, maybe I'll just stick with what I've got then as my rad is only about six months old as I had to replace it,cheers guys.
