Tornado Red. Dont need to say anymore
-
So who is the other Blue Graphite? Reveal yourself!
(Got any links to pics of the colour?)
Rolfe.

me me me I am the other blue graphite guy... although I chose the united grey. My current BMW is blue so thought I would get a grey instead... but deep within my heart I would have loved the blue graphite... Have I sinned?

I just thought I was the only Blue Graphite fan!
Rolfe.
Well, it's that or option 10.....
-
white. has to be.
-
white is nice but it is/will be a common colour. I have seen at least 2 white mk6s. Was not sure whether they were both GTIs as it was on the other side of the highway.
black also rather common and to maintain its shine, it is going to be a chore. Just reading Jules guidelines in cleaning your car was enough to make me sweat...
red, well thats rather flashy... nice but flashy.... unless I decide to wear a matching undy... ho ho ho

Hi all, been lurking for a while. Found the forum a mine of information!
Ordered a pearl black 5dr on 1st July, build week 38 (14/09/09)
Can't wait
-
Black for me I don't care if I have to regularly wash it! I just think black is classy and when it is clean and shiny really looks the biz.
-
I had this black sapphire metallic BMW 323i.... ahhhhh it was my pride and joy.... everyday before I took her out, I would dust her and would admire it for a few minute before I drove her out the garage.... then in the sunlight I would see all the dust I had missed and see all strokes in which you had done with the duster.... huurrrumph.... and then spring comes and the car looks like a duck having skin problems when all the pollen starts to stick to the car especially pollen that looks like
feathers cotton fluffs.... ha ha ha

Reflex Silver. Why? It's a company car so flat colour (non metallics) were not approved. So out goes white (lovely but will be everywhere). I liked CGM a lot, but it was not available on short notice. And I liked Silver because: it's not the most common colour for a GTI, it looks rather like a wolfe in sheepskin, it's a light colour which I like on the Golf's bodywork, it's very practical to keep that clean look.
And, guys, I'm almost 40 now: I don't want to go screaming around like "watch my car, it's a true GTI!". I prefer to keep low profile. Silver does just that. Which is exactly what I want. :embarassed:
-
i like silver too, looks very smart. but my last car was silver and the missus has a thing for black.... (don't ask!)
-
Candy White for me .. and just 4 more weeks to wait until it arrives!!!!!!
Red was ruled out for me as my mkV is red and i wanted something that would be noticed so it had to be white! Better not go out of fashion too soon!!!!
-
went with white
And I challenge anyone to have a dirtier candy white than me!
-
Situation seems to be pretty black and white so far. Awaiting an influx of reds though, I'm sure there were more red guys out there ( or the perhaps they just post more?!)
-
Quickly decided on carbon grey, almost by elimination:
- red says "I really want a Ferrari, but can't afford one"
black looks fantastic when clean, but only stays that way for 300 yards. Also swirl marks are highly visible, even from a distance
blues just don't look right on a GTI
silver looks too ordinary, like a TDI
white looks like a French ambulance
the other 2 greys look a bit weird
Carbon grey is also unique to the GTI (for the moment)
-
Nice to see that there is not too many red cars out there
-
Black is in demand hence helps resale value :)

Bump!
Only 28 votes? We can do better than that.
And I want to know who the third Blue Graphite is.
I haven't seen a single pic of a Mk VI Blue Graphite. Only the two pics of his Mk V that Joe posted, he says it's the same colour. Hope that's right, that top picture is the business!

Thanks for those pix. I hadn't seen a shadow blue GTI and I must say it looks... well, a bit odd really. Maybe it's because I used to have a Golf Plus TDI in that colour and it was a bit dull, but I think it looks kind of boring, especially with 17" wheels and mudflaps :embarassed:
-
There was a bigger car in Shadow Blue parked outside at the first dealer I was looking at. I thought it was a bit dark and a bit ordinary, though those pictures look quite nice.
I thought the Blue Graphite might have a bit more subtlety to it, but again it might be very dark. I thought the red trim complemented the Blue Graphite better than the Shadow Blue though.
(Probably said this before.) I liked the lighter blue of one of the cars shown in Paris last autumn, but us Brits aren't allowed that colour. On the other hand, again the red trim didn't seem to go so well with it.

The standard colour choices for the GTI are really quite uninspiring. I like blue cars - although blue graphite does look good when the suns out it's a bit dull the rest of the time. So I'd choose one of the German specials like this one from the Paris show:

Or have a Golf R which presumably will be available in the same blue as the Scirocco R.
-
The trouble with the German specials - apart from whatever hoops you have to jump through to get a right-hand-drive car in one of these colours - is the prices. They're insane!

Deep black pearl OR candy white.. Mmmm

Bump again.
Remember guys, while the other thread's for voting on which colours you like, this one's for telling us the one you've actually ordered (or would order if you were buying one).
Rolfe.
-
Hmm, I'd probably ask for one in that German Special blue or in yellow.

+1.. that German Blue is the nuts!
-
You really, seriously, would pay 2,020 euros for that?
Remember, this poll is for what you have actually ordered, or seriously would order if you were getting a MkVI.
The poll for which colour you just like is thataway....

No, not that much. Blue or Gray in the real world.
To be honest, I was seriously toying with the idea of going to order a MKVI... fingers crossed trading in Q4 picks up and I get that bonus!
