Title: Bonnet on Mark 5 GTI

being picky now , but if i undo the bonnet on the car , there is what i can only describe as a hydrolic level thingy.... on my old golf it used to go up on it's own , but this one isn't doing that...   i.e  it seems as the hydrolic part of it is not working.

Does anyone know if this is correct ?  , the car is an 07 plate.

The hydraulic thingy should make the bonnet go up on its own.
If it's under warranty then take it to VW and see what they say. If not then I doubt it will be very expensive to replace.
