Title: Starter Motor ?
Post by: Amzy-Bear on 14 July 2009, 15:31
My Starter motor is f**cked. I Have the replacement in the boot.

Are they hard to fit ? because i have a couple hours spare !!

Is there and tricky bits, or is it a case of just swapping them over ?

Thanks in advance

They look a pack of piss to replace, its easly accessible.

Haynes rate it 3 spanners - reading it it dosn't seam too hard either.

And i need a ratchet to do the job, a 16mm. but it wont go on because of the piece that the nut screws onto is to long.

no none at all, disconnected all the wires that go into the starter motor and that was fine.
its just the bolts were in funny places, and because i didnt have the right ratchet i had to use a spanner, and the pipes that go into the thermostat were in the way !!

so i had to put it back together because it wouldnt work and it started raining :(
