Does this exhaust look any good? Is it going to be silly loud? Thinking of bidding on it.

OK smartass.  lol.

I just wondered roughly, as I've never owned a performance exhaust and need any exhaust to get my beloved little 8V through the dreaded MOT.

My current exhaust has developed a large crack on the joint.

i had a remus back box, 75% of the time you couldnt really notice any difference, until you REALLY gave it beans

as its got  standard number of boxes i wouldnt worry too much

Sounds good. I just dont want people to look round thinking "WOW an ENZO!?" then seeing an 8V roaring towards them at.. 30mph.

I think you can safely say,  you WONT get mistaken for an ENZO

I have heard these exhaust before and ther are pretty loud most of the time. With the standard boxes it should be ok but on motorways it might get a little teadious.

Good, because my MK2 is sexier than any Ferrari.

I've got a proper dilemma... Do I buy this exhaust, or stay stock. Buying this one will save me lots of cash, but I dont want it to affect my performance negatively - or sound like a jet engine. What to do?!  :undecided:

Why do you think that it would negatively affect performance ? It might just be a raspy exhaust note which isn't a bad thing. You should hear my Rallye dude, it's loud as and I love it.

I'm seriously tempted to buy it. I've heard about these systems not fitting properly though, and haven't magnex gone bust? Also, how much is a standard VW made exhaust system.

ive got the same exhaust without the mid box and makes a low burble noise when not caning it, but when you open it up it sounds very meaty, not chavvy or jap noise at all, just about right in my oppinion!!

Thanks mate. Is it easy to fit? I know some 'performance' exhausts can be a bit of a pain.

its actually very easy to fit, just make sure where it goes onto the downpipe is very tight as they tend to slip and it puts the backbox out of line. im sure you'll be very happy with it, and if your feeling extra naughty a K&N panel filter is a good addition!

Not bad, sits quite nicely. Just worried its gonna look huge under my car, as I like to keep my golf 100% standard. But saying that, I am short on cash and If I can get this exhaust for under £100 I might have to!
