Title: Your MK2
Post by: Ninja on 13 July 2009, 18:50
My MK2.

Black 89 Big bumper 8v DIGIFANT MK2. Standard BBS Alloys.

No electric windows of any of that rubbish, old school window winders and no power steering

Completely standard, not even lowered.

My Ideal MK2.

Standard, untouched G60... OR Rallye (which I would put dual round headlights on) which are both most probably out of my budget

I did threaten to do just that to my Rallye but was met by an angry mob who threatened to behead me and hand me back to the German Authorities!

OI YOU, NO, YOU WON'T DO IT EVER

I nearly had my hands on a rallye a few weeks back. They look like chaved out mk2's to the untrained eye

My dream mk2...

For starters it would be fully stripped /acid dipped. Built from the ground up 90 spec big bumper. Totaly mint and all my electrics fitted

My Mk2

1992 Pearl Grey, 8v 5 door standard except weighted shift rod, alarm, immobiliser, DAB headunit and newer speakers (NOT cut into parcel shelf though!) Comes with all the runout malarchy  - e/w, half smoked rear lights, 256mm brakes, PAS, 15" BBS alloys, rainbow trim and bee-sting ariel. Lots of little things need doing, but nothing terminal, and she scrubs up well.

My ideal Mk2

1986/87 16v, 3 door, Monza blue - but any colour would be fab. I love all the quirks of the early models - the 7 slat grille, the small bumpers, the 4-button steering wheel, quarter-light front windows, the fact that the wipers are on backwards!

Knobby's one. He sold it due to running costs. A RHD Rallye is wrong and so is round lights on one.

My MKII is a Tornado Red (not pink or orange) 3 door 1991 G60. Looks very nice as I have refurbed nearly the entire car. I just wish it ran as well as it looks. BUT, it is getting there, slowly, but surely.

My ideal MKII....? This will be my last one so this is pretty much it.
