Title: Revs take ages to drop when warm
Post by: leegt5 on 12 July 2009, 21:21
I have just replaced my throttle body as the old one would keep clicking and adjusting itself when the ignition was on and it would cut out after start up unless the revs were kept up for the first 2 minutes.

Now with the new one it starts on the button from cold and doesn't cut out. However once its warmed up when I dip the clutch to change gear the revs drop really really slowly. Ive tried 2 other throttle bodies and it does the same.

So is that how they are normally but mine dropped quickly before (with old throttle body) because it was faulty or another fault could cause the revs to drop slowly ??

I know on the Mk4 once you have done a throttle body clean it takes a while for the idle to settle down to normal, usually a few hundred miles, might be worth leaving it on and give it a couple of hundred miles.
