Title: drivers door

hi all, im having trouble with my drivers door, it wont unlock with the button on the key, all the other doors open fine..:( its just started to happen.. after i let the woman clean the inside... WOMAN...lol.... any help is appreciated thx

having the exact same problem. u got a gti or gt tdi?

rhyso vagcom'd my car for me, brought up some codes, post them tonight when i have more time

its a gti on 06... what would i do with codes.. jees i hate computers what happened to the good old days when a hammer n screwdriver would fix anything..:)..lol

well you search online for the cause of the code, rhyso gave me this website -

im still a lil lost after looking up the codes as they are basically "check wiring" for most of them

i think i need to take the codes to the dealership

ones i have that are to do with central locking are:-

01038
00928 <this one is probably the cause

hiya,  well its sorted, i got someone to sit in the car and press the door lock open button whilest i was outside, nothing worked, went inside got spare key to try that, tried main key first again and it worked..lol.. 3 days it didn't work for so wth.. i think the button inside might of been stuck, but A it works now so alls good in the world again..:)

lol, unlucky mate. i still havent had a chance to get to dealers. will let you know what they say when i get round to it

well i took it to the dealers it needed new door mechanism cost me 235 all in and took 3 hrs , but @ least i can get in now..:)....

just got me cheque bk from the warrenty company...:) , hold on he says, THATS NOT WHAT VW CHARGED ME vw got the authority to do the work..... 70 pound +vat for labour i found out the other day, but the fekers billed me 109+vat...WTH... now trying to talk to someone about this from the garage, its been 3 days, still cana get them on v phone to tell me why this acurred...lol.. grrrr.. will get it sorted eventually but  ffs..:(..
