HAH AHAH HAHA... a crow bar? .... hmmm that would just suck.... hmmm good question carl!!! Anyone has an idea... I might need to cancel my order... hmmm thats a bit too late as well... Batteries on the mote last approximately 1.5 to 2 years on average? So hmmm, just have to carry spare batts after that period I guess... but it is hilarious now to be asking this question...

How do you get in? Easy, phone partner/other responsible person, ask them to jump in other car/on bus/taxi and bring spare key with them. Problems occur when partner/other responsible person is not in same locality as you or they have been using the spare key when they use the car and that has a flat battery too. Then I guess you it's time to join the AA/RAC.
Sod's Law dictates that the time the battery will actually go flat will be the most inconvenient time imaginable too.
Ahh the price of modern living......

In my experience the one key hole on modern cars for emergency use is pretty much useless as its never used and seizes up. So I can see why they deleted it. Maybe its in a hidden place?
Audi's of old (audi 80 era) used to come with a secret key in a magnetic box hidden under the car.

I've heard some cars recharge the battery once in the ignition and the car is running (BMW mini), so this would increase the life of the battery. But your right there will be a problem whenever the key fob stops working
-
Does the boot handle have a keyhole? you could climb in through there.
-
There is a keyhole, on my Scirocco I had to use the key, there's a cover that pops off on the handle.

Shirley this must be covered in the owners manual?!

Who reads the manual? I had my mk5 GTI for 2 1/2 years before I realized that there was a button underneath the rear view mirror for the automatic dimming.

ha ha ha, that is funny... I dont refer to my manual unless something fell off the car and I didnt know where it is suppose to go. After hours spent locating, my son comes along and say hey dad you found it! Grabs it and runs off.... sigh... I wonder how many wasted hours are gone in this world... just like that... wonder whether there is dollar figure that we can attach to it... ha ha ha

While I was searching for auto dimming rear view mirror I came across this thread.
Sorry its an old thread.
Well I'm surprised no one has answered this. The door lock is covered but a plastic capping you need a key or something to fit in the slot underneath and prise the cap off and use you key to open the door.
-
the passenger side has it just lift the cap next to the handle
you can use the bottom of your key to slip of the cap

There's a removable section at the end of the door handle where you would normally see a lock which reveals the key hole.

Depends on which battery...?
If its the key one, then use the spare key
