Title: Temp sender on the front of head?
Post by: WYATT on 11 July 2009, 19:26
Alrite just wondering , i have fitted the oil cooler (Just the VW stock one everyone has) , i see that on the plastic bit that goes onto the side of the head , there is just two bits to plug bits into.

The old one that was fitted to my engine had two at the top and one under it but didnt have the pipe that goes from the bottom to the oil cooler itself , so i was wondering what vw i would need to look for two get a temp sender houseing thing that has room for 3 plugs and the lower pipe for the cooler ,

Here is the one that was taken off the car that had no oil cooler fitted , its just im left with three plugs and only two can be plugged in one grey and one red , the one that doesnt have a colour to go is the one for the temp gaug so now i dont dont know if she is getting hot !

The 8vs have this one

Doubt you need all 3 sensors together anyway. only dash temp and ecu coolant temp

get a GTI 8v side flange for models with aircon, put your extra sensor in there :)
