Sorry guyz i know I have asked this, but have lost the thread and forgot to write it down.
My car is a MK2 16V 89 (November) so I think it's in the 89-92 catagory and not the 86-89 catagory
Can some please confirm this!
Cheers

hmmm, i would say 89 to 92 catergory? ???

It all depends on when she left the factory - NOT when she was first registered ....
You need to use your chassis number to really tell.

Thanks mate
How can I tell from the chassis number? Who do I check it with?

yours is a late spec 16v, 89-92
-
Thanks once again, i have printed this off and filed it :)

A big clue is the location of the Hazard switch:
On Dash = early spec
On Column = late spec
BUT in the states there doesn't seem to be a correlation between the two, on a forum post I visited the guys posted that on the late spec models the switch could be in either location...

there is actually 3 different UK 16v specs for 1989 due to the changeover
there is the original small bumper
then the original big bumper
but there is also small bumpers that have the steering column hazard switch and bigger brakes - basically its a big bumper without the big bumpers! - but these are very few n far between and worth big money!
