Title: Steering wheel judders

right i put a new set of alloys on about a month ago and in the last week or so steering wheel has been juddeing(shaking) when i accelerate or reach a speed of over 50 mph. However, when im just cruising along the motorway at about 70+ it seems pretty fine.
what you reckon could be wrong guys. Could it be anything to do with wheel balancing or the fact that my new alloys need spigot rings to sit flush and tight on the hub, even tho they look perfect and have the correct bore size.

Are they a tight fit on the hub, if not you will need spiggot rings.

im defo no expert but they look pretty flush to me mate. However, the geeza in nationals told they could do with spigots.
Anyways would that cause the steering wheel to shake.

Wheel balance could be out.

My Fiesta had this problem, Like yours I could drive out of it by driving faster.

check ur shocks,they might be knackerd.mine did this when i was pulling away hard in a straight and corners,i just thought-what the fook is wrong now, so i pulled the golf on the lift and my left shock was gone-all the oil was leaking out.replaced both front shocks and it was cured.hope this helps! :smiley:

Yes as you are only holding the wheels on with the bolts.

sorry to hi-jack this thread m8, but i got a problem with my steering juddering also....
I'd say 60mph and above my steering wheel wabbles, Doesnt really stable when increasing speed... Gets even worse when going 100 and more... on a private road of course  :rolleyes:

Would you think maybe the wheels need balancing? tyre pressures are fine, wheels are on ok. and its been like this for ages.. need it sorting tho. MOT shortly  :smiley:
